CPU Temp Fluctuations

So I created my PC around 5 months ago and in during the 4th month problems throughout the machine were becoming apparent. When my AMD fx 8320 is under load from gaming, the temperature of it would usually average 65 - 70C, and while continuing to play, the temp would instantly fluctuate the temperature down to around 50 to 60 C causing a large drop in FPS for a couple of seconds until the temp would return to its norm. This often occurs around every minute or so. What could possibly be the problem that would cause this?

(I used CPUID HWMonitor to figure out the temps)

Is this your board?

If so it's a really poor board for an FX 8320, in fact it doesn't even officially support the FX line of cpus.
I suggest buying a better board before upgrading the cooler, buying a watercooler could make things worse since the vrms on that board would have even less passive airflow.

I recommend getting this motherboard at the very least

Will be fine as long as you don't want to overclock much.

My motherboard is pretty cheap, its a Asus M4A785-M and for my CPU cooler, its the Cooler Master Hyper 101. At the moment im looking to upgrade to liquid cooling to try to reduce this instability.
