Question cpu temp high while watching live on yt

Hey guys , my rig is :
i7 6700
980ti
h130 d3h
32gb ram
2 tb nvme ssd

im using the librehardwaremonitor
and i have seen that slowly my cpu temp goes up to 94%
and then if i want to play a game i need to restart my pc and then im able to game smoothly

i have this pc 10 years , once i replaced psu but i dunno if he did not , if not so i didnt in those 10 years

when you say significantly , how much do you think ?

10C-15C or so I would think. The stock cooler was always a little undersized for an i7 to start with, but just given the way Core 3 there is a lot cooler than the other ones is a good indication that the thermal paste has started to dry out.

Eximo is spot on. Another option is to replace the OEM cooler altogether with something much better.
