CPU Temp in BIOS 40°c NZXT CAM Software reporting 80-100°c

I've just upgraded my system to a 2600X I'm using the Asrock X470 Master SLI motherboard.

When I boot into windows the CAM software shows the CPU temp to be anywhere between 80-100°c I get the warnings that the CPU is running hot and I should shut down.

Panicking I then attached the stock cooler and put the X62 on the second CPU fan slot and the same information is being displayed.

BIOS says CPU is 40°c but CAM insists it's 80-100°c

who do I believe and where is cam getting it's CPU temp information from if the BIOS says it's half of what CAM is reporting. Whenever I've had a CPU running hot before, the system kills itself to prevent damage but this isn't happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've used Ryzen Master and HWMonitor and both are reporting temps between 33 and 42 Celsius.

Yup, went through this myself when I upgraded to my 2700X, came close to having a heart attack. Both CoreTemp and CAM showed incorrect temps on my machine, but HWMonitor works fine, along with Ryzen Master, not to mention the bios being the end all be all for me for accuracy.
