Question CPU temp is normal?

Hey!

I have an I7-960 quad core 3,2ghz, applied with thermal paste and with a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3, I don't know, but I think it's a bit hot....
I tested the temperature with no background processes, only with an opened browser (opera gx), with a program named Open Hardware Monitor....
In the Task Manager at the performance page the cpu utilization is about 4-10%, in the Open Hardware Monitor the cpu load:
Core 1 - 8%
Core 2 - 4%
Core 3 - 2%
Core 4 - 5%
with temps:
Core 1 - 54 C max 64 C
Core 2 - 52 C max 68 C
Core 3 - 51 C max 61 C
Core 4 - 54 C max 64 C

That's normal?

PC Specs:
Mobo: Dell Alienware Aurora R4 ms-7591
CPU: Intel Core I7-960 3,20ghz Quad Core
RAM: 6x 4GB 1333mhz Hynix
GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX480 8gb DDR5
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 S 700W

I searched in the google for the max temperature for that cpu, and someone says 70 C and above 70 C is bad, other people saying the max for that cpu before crash is 100 C, so I didn't know..

Max in open hardware monitor refers to the max temp seen in that monitoring session.

I agree that your CPU is hot for doing noting, mine sits idle at ~35 degrees C.
Make sure you removed the plastic film that most coolers ship with that covers the part that contacts the CPU.
With air cooling, the lowest temperature you can possibly reach is that of the room. Is it really hot in the room? Also, make sure your computer has ample airflow.
Are your other components (like the GPU) running at a similar temperature when idle?

In my room is 26 C, and my GPU is at 37 C max 38 C

My case is a Genesis Irid 300 with 4 120mm fans 3in the front panel 1in the back side, the airflow is good, and ye I removed the plastic film when I inserted in the mobo

When not doing anything intensive like playing games or editing video, I would expect that the CPU and GPU be very close in temperature.
Did you install the cooler recently? If so, and the temperatures weren't high like that before the cooler was installed, something must be wrong with the installation of the cooler or the cooler itself.

I didn't used that pc about a half month, and today, i cleaned it, I didn't touched the cpu cooler, bc it clean, maybe i take out and i will reseat it, and i try to run a game with riva tuner statistic server, to see in game temps, agree?

Now the temp is around 56-60 C
