Hi guys

recently my cpu temps have gone very hot. my cpu temps before ranged from 28-35 which is normal i believe, but now my temps have gone to the high 50's and 60 range. my cpu has not been overclocked, and runs roughly at 1.216V by default, but it does go lower sometimes due to the adaptive mode.

my cpu is the 6700k with the corsair h110i gtx liquid cooler. i haven't overclocked and i have changed the stock thermal paste to the Deep cool z5 thermal paste.

my case is the nzxt h440 with 3x120mm fans for intake in the front and 1x140mm for exhaust in the rear. On the cosrair cooler i have the stock fans pulling air our of my case

The outside temperature is pretty much 30 degrees Celsius most of the time.

i just want to know if there is any way i can lower the temperature without any additional costs

thanks :)

CPUs can run hot for 3 reasons:

1) Fans fail - heat makes it as far as the radiator, block and radiator both feel hot to touch

2) Pump fails - heat makes it as far as the waterblock, block feels warm/hot to ouch, radiator remains cool

3) Mounting fails - heat doesn't make it to the waterblock, block and radiator remain cool

Sounds like your pump might've failed.

it started happening a month after i changed the thermal paste, and the pump is working fine

everything on the pump is fine ( radiator and pump is cool ) and the fans are running well

i could try and remount it i guess, the load temps are roughly 60-65
