I just installed an AMD Athlon X4 740X processor on a MSI A55M-E35 motherboard and am using a Cool Master Seidon 120V water cooler. I have been watching my temps with Speccy and CUPID's HWMonitor. they both say my average temp while under load is ~60C. however the MSI Command Center that came with the MB says its running 39C. who do I trust?

If 60C is very high end for AMD, and is considered bad, then why do they keep shipping with that awful stock cooler?
At least the Intel stock cooler can keep the CPU cool enough to prevent throttling or system restarts....

Most AMD CPU under load will be at around 60C, that is normal. Normal idle temperatures should be in the 30-40C range.

Both AMD and Intel get hot, but Intel tends to get hotter when overclocked, due to the 22nm process that is used on Ivy Bridge and Haswell, which produces excess heat.
