CPU temp

I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+. These are temp readings I just did with Everest Ultimate:

Temperatures:
Motherboard 46 °C (115 °F)
CPU 25 °C (77 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #1 63 °C (145 °F)
CPU #1 / Core #2 60 °C (140 °F)
MCP 73 °C (163 °F)
Aux 47 °C (117 °F)
Hitachi HDT725032VLA380 46 °C (115 °F)
WDC WD3200AAKS-00B3A0 44 °C (111 °F)

These readings were after a couple hours of use

I can't really comment on the appropriateness of the temperatures, as I'm not that familiar with the AMD CPUs. But I will say that "after a couple of hours of use" is pretty vague when asking whether certain temperatures are appropriate. Normally one measures temperatures while running a CPU intensive program such as Prime95 on the basis that if the temperatures are within limits under those conditions, they'll be fine for anything else you might try to run.

The most the pc is used for is editing HD videos from the firewire or Tuner cards with TMPEG and VideoReDo. Only game played on it is Madden '08

The difference between core temp and overall temp is rather dramatic, ten to fifteen would be a big difference but forty plus is just weird.

The specs on the AMD site for my processor list max temp at 55-72, is that the cpu temp or the cpu core temps?
