Hi Guru,
Warm Greetings !!

I did my first Desktop Build.
I am using i7 4770K and Noctua NH-U14S Air Cooler with dual fans and low noise cables.

After my build , I saw that the temperature for my CPU in BIOS is 38 °C.
And MOBO has 28 °C.

Am I in good shape.
Just wondering did I did everything correctly.

I could see this below site posted 26 °C in idle. 🙁

http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/noctua_nh_u14s/4.htm

Please suggest ? He is using the same build configuration which I have.

NOTE:

While installing the only mistake I did is I need to place the fan on the cpu 5 - 7 times & move little here and there to properly align it.
So the thermal paste was dancing in the bottom. And I finally fixed it 🙁

Do I need to re-fix 🙁

Solution

It may be better to re apply the thermal paste by moving it around you can creat air bubles.

Try it to see if it improve your temps. But actually you don't need to re apply it because those temps are fine, but by re applying it you might see better temps.

Good luck!

don't forget to pick a solution 😛

Solution
Idle temperatures do not tell you anything useful unless they are seriously out of whack which would indicate a mounting issue. At idle, the motherboard is usually limiting the fan speed to a fraction of its normal speed so the CPU would naturally warm up under light load from that.

The only way to know for sure if everything is installed and working properly is to do a stress-test and see what sort of temperature spikes you get.
