If that is a laptop, I would suggest that you buy a cooler pad for it. I'm told they cost as little as $10.

Someone I know had a similar problem, and Best Buy was going to charge her $125 to check out her laptop, and someone told her about the cooling pad, and she said it completely resolved her problem. She even canceled her appointment with Best Buy.

Probably a good time to take off the back panel and blow out the dust, cooking crumbs, cat hair, etc from the heat sinks. Also a good idea to put something under the back end and lift the back of the laptop up a bit.

As an engineer, I have plenty of these lying around from the ole days (before CAD) .... and they kinda outlived their use for the most part..... using it to lift up the back edge of the lappie gives it's life new meaning .... I think it's happy being finding itself useful again :)

In testing, I have not seen much out of laptop coolers... have 2 here that are not used.

1. If you do get one, make sure you power it from a USB hub with it's own DC power supply. Using the USB ports on your lappie can burn out the port(s) .... been there, done that.

2. Imagine taking a desk fan and pointing it at your desktop case .... it's not going to do anything unless it somehow forces air into the case's inlet ports. That's the problem with laptop coolers....the fans rarely line up with the laptops air inlet ports and are therefore ineffective. We use Clevo lappies and also have a few MacBook Pros and other brands at home .... tested them each with the 2 coolers and none gave better results than the ruler.
