Question CPU temperature monitoring ?

I have tried a number of different software - CoreTemp, HWInfo,MSI afterburner and OpenHardwareMonitor to monitor my CPU temp. I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a RTX 3070. When the software is first installed and loaded, I get continuous temp readouts. Next day after I start the computer, temps (for the 4 cores) appear in the task bar but are frozen at a certain temp say 53C and do not change. I then have to restart the computer and only then do the temp readouts become continuous. What could be causing this to happen?

Hey there,

Well there could be a few reasons why. Can you list your full PC specs? Also, the current bios you are running. You can check this with CPU-z.

At first glance possibly a faulty temp sensor, or perhaps a software bug..

Are all your system drivers up to date?

= E7E26AMS.150 = BIOS
Graphics = RTX 3070 Gaming MSI
Cooling system = Deep Cool LS 720 Premium
RAM = 16 x 2Gb KLEVV @ 6200
750W power supply
M.2 4TB disc

I think all drivers are up to date.
