CPU : AMD Athlon II X4 760k with stock cooler
I wanted to check my cpu temperatures and i've downloaded AMD Overdrive..
I saw a strange thing ... when i am not doing anything, but looking the program, not even moving the mouse, it shows 60-70 degrees but when i launch a game for instance Grid Autosport it shows 20-23 degrees.. ?!

The sensors might just be off since on that CPU, the computer would shut down when reaching high temps like that as it's not recommended to pass 74C on that CPU.

You could try reinstalling the stock cooler and clean off the old thermal paste and apply new paste.

Bios is the most accurate of out them all after all, not sure what the issue is here. Do you actually run into shut down issues and such? If not, without knowning the real temps, you PC should function fine but the CPU might have a reduced lifespan if continuously running too hot if that's the case.

Nope i don't have a single issue.. My computer have never restarted without a reason... I've tried one more program.. HwInfo..
CPU TEMPS
CPU 0 : Minimum 0.1 degrees (WTF) maximum 20.3 degrees
CPU 0 Package : Minimum 48 degrees maximum 69.3 degrees
still i don't understand what is the problem

Those temps already seem closer to the BIOS' one. I'm not sure what the problem is either, probably faulty sensors.

are you running more than 1 monitor at a time? That can create funky readings. Also are you running any fan control software? When reading BIOS temps, your reading what the BIOS has set the fan speed on. When in windows, that fan curve will be changed by any software, so temps will be different

Software temps are subjective, take them with a grain of salt, they are not perfect and depending on the software, can be quite inaccurate. A BIOS upgrade wouldn't hurt.

I've used 4 or 5 different programs separate, not at once. The all show different and "funky"numbers (90+ or 19degrees...) but when i go to bios it shows 40-42 degrees.
