Cpu temperature wrong reading? Strangest thing ever

I'll try to summarize this, I had 6 gb of dd3 1333mhz ram (one stick of 2 and one of 4) now I removed the one of two and replaced it for one of 8. I booted up, ram was recognized but as soon as I started gaming I felt I had lower fps, so what I do is restart the computer to check frequencies at bios, when I do this Boom cpu temperature error, I check it with the bios and it showed 80° C, I chose the option to ignore it boot up again and download cpu temp to have a second reading, the program shows freaking 100°C, I honestly have no clue, the fan is spinning so what the hell can it be? My rig is 4670k gtx 980 Asus vi hero 8 gb ram as of now

What was 80°C? The CPU? If it throttles then the CPU temps are correct. Remove cpu cooler, reapply thermal paste and put it back together!

its ok mine shows 100 degrees all the time. somestimes 120-150 even thought its impossible. and thats celcius not fahrenheit. 3rd party programs are unreliable

Try HWINFO, it shows all sensors, can also log temperatures for later analysis and show them in realtime during gaming with the help of RTSS:
