Hey guys.
I bought an SSD drive Crucial MX300 525 GB and installed on my laptop. Replaced the DVD drive with the old HDD and put the new SSD in it's place.
The thing is since then the CPU temperatures are always above 90 degrees, and that's just when I'm on the internet, or Facebook, or simple software like Word or Excel. If my son plays any game, it eventually shuts down due to overheating.
And the battery last a LOT less than before.

I have an ASUS N550JK, Intel I7-4710HQ 2.50GHZ.

Anyone know if this could be about the SSD drive?

Solution
I dont see how the SSD would cause that. 90c temps all the time is not good at all, I would not even use the laptop in that state nevermind trying to play games on it.

I would make sure the fan is still working and the heatsink isn't completely caked with dust. If that doesn't help then I would pull it apart and remount the cpu cooler with new thermal paste, if the laptop was dropped or something the heatsink could have come loose and is not making full contact with the CPU.
