CPU temperatures extremely high while idle. Temps went up to 125 and system turned off. It now won’t post. Any help is appreciated

[strike]With 125C you CPU should melt 😀
Did you applied thermalpaste ? Are u using PC or laptop ? Whats your system specification ?[/strike]

Ok i guess we are talking about fahrenheit yes ? Reapply thermalpaste, check if your fan is working correctly. Give full system specification along with CPU fan

I just used the thermal paste which comes applied. This is a pc I just built. Specs are 500w psu, asrock mini itx AM4 AB350 mobo, ryzen 2400G with stock cooler

Stock AMD thermalpaste/fan are crap but it shouldnt give you such high temps. Is your case well ventilated ? You are giving us a socket temperature or a core temperature ? Upload HWMonitor screenshot.

I don’t remember whether it was core or socket sorry. And I can’t check because I can’t get a post on the screen. I remember the the case temperature was 35 degrees so I think it is well ventilated.
