hi im bit confused about my processor my cpu core voltage set to auto 1.305v and im getting 72c temp on intel burn test and Aida64 but when i change my core voltage to 1.25 the max temp i got is 66c on both tests. should i stick with 1.25v? also im on stock clock with turbo boost dont want to overclock. I just wondering that my cpu wouldnt have problem with 1.25v also does it reduce cpu performance or it could damage my cpu on 1.25v? thanks in advance
 
Solution
1. The "not a good idea part" in Item 1 means "don't do that".

2. Yes, do that. AHve the BIOS run in adaptive mode, not locked manual mode.

3. Lower it to lowest stable voltage. Drop it a bit, run the test .. if it passes lower it again ... and so on. If it fails bump it back up

4. Use RoG Real Bench at least as a final stability test
This is an identical question to one I answered in another thread.

Every CPU is different ... some need high voltages to run table. The auto voltage is based upon testing that shows 99.9% of CPUs will run at this voltage. You have a 99% chance that your CPU will therefore run at a lower voltage.

Again, there are two ways to do that....

1. You hard lock the CPU to run at that voltage 24/7 (not a good idea) .. at idle, you wnat the CPU to downclock and reduce voltage to about 0.7v

2. You set it up to go o 1.25 (or whatever volts) when needed under load and drop down automatically to 0.7 or so when at idle.

3. Lowering the max voltage will noit harm the CPU, it just may not run stable at that voltage.

4. I have had stable OCs using IBT, AIDA, P95 fail when tested under a multitasking application based benchmark like RoG Real bench
