Cpu Temps Fluctuating

I have recently built a new computer with an I7-6700k and h100i v2 cooler but have noticed the temps running high under load and have massive fluctuations. The temps are constant and fine while idle but even after applying new thermal paste multiple times the temperatures are still fluctuating. The temps are increasing from 40°C to 80°C instantly and then dropping back down repeatedly. I don't know what could be causing this and any help is greatly appreciated. After looking more into it I have noticed from the games I've tested that this only happens when in CS:GO.

Some games work different than others. At one point it can be intensive and at others not so much. If you're concerned, use CPUz to do a stress test and see if the temp stays constant. If it jumps up and stays at one temp your cooler is working, though it shouldn't be 80c unless you're OCing or have a bad pump or something.

Thanks for the help, I checked into bios and discovered it was being OCed to 4.7ghz by default. I lowered it a bit and now my temps with everything are fine.
