Okay, so I'm running an AMD FX-8350 cooled by a corsair H80i. I have seen temps jump from 30c to 80c in a matter of a single second. What in the world is happening? I was going to overclock this processor the run and gun way (set core voltage to 1.4v then set core clock to 5.0ghz) but I'm afraid to even run tests because of these weird results I'm witnessing. Can someone please explain what is happening here? Is there water missing from the cooler? It was sitting around 10c idle before I bumped up voltage.

Make sure water is filtered and clean with no,refill water in the reservoir and ensure that there is no dust in the fans and in the case itself.Maybe the dust is causing the issue that causes to heat it up.

Cheers!

What program are you using? I have an h100i and am experiencing something of the same problem. Try reseating the cooler, and if that doesn't work, assume it's a software problem.
