Hey guys,

Im running a Swiftech H220x with no mods to it right out of the box on a i5 4690k thats on a Maximus VII Impact.

The computer ran fine when I was installing windows and what not but the fans were very noisey. I though nothing of it as I figured when I get everything set up Ill go in the bios and set the fan curve. When going into the bios I set everything to Silent mode but still all the fans ran at 100%. So I set a manual curve for the fans to run at minimum speed till 70C..but still the fans ran at 100%. Then I happen to glance over at the temps the bios was reading and it was steadily raising! I do not know to how far as when I was it reach 80C I shut the computer off.

What to do? Im thinking about re seating the cpu block but oh boy I have this all in the bitfenix prodigy case so its going to be a real pain.. Any other ideas?

Try resetting the bios settings first. If it still rises once you do that, then it's likely not software based. If you have to reseat your heatsink, make absolutely sure to have enough, but not too much of the thermal paste. Too much or too little can kill temps. Other than that, I'd just make sure the block is making good contact with the cpu.

Good luck!
