Using RealTemp and HWMonitor to check temperatures.
When I have the fan at max speed, the temperatures on my CPU stay the same as when the fan is at it's lowest. Is that normal? It doesn't exceed 70°C but I'd just like to know why the fan seems to change nothing.

edit: After looking at everything- changing all of my fans to minimum/maximum doesn't affect any of my temps at idle or full load even for long periods of time

Solution
Ok, then you must be at the rooms ambient temp. No system can be cooler than the ambient temperature of the room regardless if you had a 3000 RPM fan going full speed. If the minimum temperature that the system can be at has already been reached at 1200 RPM, cranking it up to 2400 RPM isn't going to drop it any lower. Are you sure of the direction?

lol Thanks dude. I've never assembled a fan onto a heatsink before, so I'm gonna need to learn up on that. Think I'm going with the Sicklelfow. The other was just too loud

Okay so after this long I just realized my cooler fan was a pull, and not a push... So I had it backwards and blowing all the hot air around in my case. I'm an idiot, and checking again - the fan does change the temps now. Can't believe I was so dumb to not think of that...
