So I upgraded my motherboard about 2 or 3 hours ago and everything works fine, but my cpu in the bios idles at about 52 degrees and the fan is incredibly loud. My cpu is a ryzen 5 2600x with a stock cooler. It is the first time of me applying thermal paste so maybe a put too little on but it looked to me about the size of a pea so idk anymore, would appreciate any help

Thanks

I think that most likely the cause is the stock cooler.
Stock coolers can be terrible.
I don't think it's your paste job.
....but also check to make sure the cooler is snug.
It shouldn't move when you apply reasonable force.
If it's snug.....I would change the stock cooler.

I was thinking that but before I upgraded the stock cooler at stock speeds made the cpu idle at about 30 degrees, so what I’m wondering is why it’s suddenyl gone up 20 degrees
