My CPU temps are for some reason reaching 100ºC instantly after running Prime95 torture test small FFT's with 8 workers (100% load). Idle temps are fine (4ºC above ambient 28) and I was only getting 70ºC when I ran the same test yesterday. I tried reseating the heatsink with some new AS5 but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I also tried doing a test with 3 workers at about 40% load. Core 0, 1, and 2 temps were at 80ºC and core 3 temp was at 50ºC. I have a Corsair H55 with an SP120 running push/pull intake together with the stock fan. Could it possibly be faulty sensors?

Solution
Yeah prime95 pushes the haswell cpus hard, are you using a newer version of prime95 today? If you are using v28.5 or newer then it will get considerably hotter.

Yeah I was using v26.6 of prime95. Turns out the issue was that my motherboard somehow increased Vcore to 1.088 (I normally have it at 1.040) and this brought up the temperatures significantly. Nothing to do with Prime95 or cooling setup. Thanks for the responses anyways.

Yep I'm getting around 80ºC after a minute or two. It should go back down to 70ºC or so once the new AS5 breaks in.
