CPU temps reaching as high as 100c under load. Can't pinpoint the issue.

A couple of months ago I made some upgrades to my computer. However i found that when I went to stress test my CPU, I was getting 90c+ on each core. When gaming the temps go up as high as 85c. I've tried reseating the fan and applying thermal paste three times now. I can't seem to figure out whats causing these high temps.

Also, the TX3 uses the same push-pin design that Intel's stock cooler uses, which is problematic in itself. Are you absolutely certain that all 4 corners are properly secured?

Are you overclocked?
Check the fan is functioning properly: that it gets up to rated speeds, plugged into the right header, blowing the right direction, etc. You might try the stock heatsink and fan to see if that gets better or helps identify the problem.

The bottom right corner is a little loose but there's nothing I can do about that. It still seems to be pushed in fully and holding my cooler in place just fine. I stress tested with both Linx and prime95 using realtemp to monitor the temps.

Do NOT use any versions of Prime95 later than 26.6. Here's why:

Core i 2nd, 3rd and 4th Generation CPU's have AVX (Advanced Vector Extension) instruction sets. Recent versions of Prime95 such as 28.5 run AVX code on the Floating Point Unit (FPU) math coprocessor, which produces unrealistically high temperatures. The FPU test in the software utility AIDA64 shows the same results.

Prime95 v26.6 produces temperatures on 3rd and 4th Generation processors more consistent with 2nd Generation, which also have AVX instructions, but do not suffer from thermal extremes due to having a soldered Integrated Heat Spreader and a 35% larger Die.

Run only Small FFT’s for 10 minutes.

Your Core temperatures will test 10 to 20C lower with v26.6 than with v28.5.

I took all of your advice. Went and reseated the fan, made sure all the pins were pushed in. After 10 minutes of small FFT's with v.26.6, My temps hardly even reached 65c. Thanks so much for your help 😀.
