CPU temps (ss included)

I just built my pc. I am noticing that the cpu temps are slightly high.

While mounting the 212 I couldnt for the life of me get one of tension screws to go in all the way. Id say every screw is 100% in, this last one is about 70-75%.

Would that cause higher than average temps. If so what should i do? I really tried to get it to work when i initially installed it but it just was not going in for me.

Yikes. Heck no. Even if your temps are fine air is going to get under there and dry out your thermal grease so yes I would fix that. I would not try to tighten it any further if it won't go because it could be cross threaded. See if you can back out and go in again. If not put washer on top of your spring so that it will tension or better yet get another mount.

Also what is up with your spring. It looks like it went through the hole of your tensioning arm or am I seeing things.

Never mind about the spring it looks like this is the way it is designed.

Hello... You need to tighten the screws, a little at a time, in a random pattern, like changing a tire... to ensure you have a even flat mounting to your CPU... AND not bend/stress your Motherboard.
Remove and inspect your Parts and Threads agian... make sure the springs stay on top of the brackets, they will keep constant Down force on Bracket... yours doesn't Look right from the picture... did you forget a washer?

My guess is you went in a circle, and not across the heatsink.
Either back them out all the way and replace the paste, or get them all half way, then turn about 2/3 turns a screw, then move across, then straight down, then across again, and repeat.

(Also, looks like someone else picked up D3 on sale )
