CPU Temps too high and crashed!

I have a i7 8700k overclocked to 5ghz with the 5ghz profile setting, and with kraken x62
Asus rog strix z370e motherboard

I stress tested my cpu with prime95, ran well for 5 mins with 75° average and then suddenly my temps soared to 93° and system crashed.

What could be the problem? Is my aio not seated properly? Is the thermal paste not applied properly? I know that my aio fans are working as intended. Thanks for the help!

Solution
try running it stock, or, with MCE on, which will keep temps more in check.....

I doubt your perfomrance will be substandard at a 'mere' 4.7 GHz across 6 cores....(perhaps the 5 GHz preset is using too high a default core voltage for your X62 to avoid thermal runaway...)
