For some reason my core temps are lower than my cpu temp. E6300 @ 3.21ghz running dual instances of prime for cpu stress one on core 0, one on core 1, im getting 52-55c on the cores max but my cpu is max at about 61. It was the same way on my intel board. I'm waiting for the arctic silver 5 to set in but why is the cpu temp hotter than the cores?

TAT was designed in 2005 for mobile Pentium M, but is assumed to read temps of C2D cores properly. Another problem is Tcase temp on this board. Yet another is that Ninja cooler heatpipes on my CPU were probed with digital thermometer, about one inch from the center of the IHS, measuring along the heatpipe. And guess what? 34.4C when TAT was showing more than 80C and SpeedFan was showing 78C Tcase. So I simply don't believe, that heatspreader can be over 40C warmer than heatpipe. But I'm still investigating this behaviour.

And it's not the BIOS, since I use latest 1202 and yours is older one, as I see on photos.
