Question CPU thermal throttling.

I have a i7 14700k and no matter what I do it keeps thermal throttling and downclocking the P cores almost 1ghz. I have a 280mm aio front mount from LF 2. NZXT H510 case which I heard is terrible airflow. I just installed a contact frame on it and it idles a few degrees less which is great but thermal throttling still. Any suggestions? I’m already looking to get a 360mm aio and new midtower case to fit it as I don’t want a bulky case.

What is your problem?
Modern processors and motherboards will, by default, attempt to run your workload as fast as it can.
It will continually test the 100c. limit and back off a bit.
If all cores are loaded, your top clock rate will be much lower than if the turbo boosts one or two cores.

Ahh I see so it’s designed to hit thermal limits, so depending on what my thermal limit is would equate whatever clock speed it dials into. Theoretically if i got a better aio and case it would provide better thermals or more headroom. Sound right?

I hear you, I appreciate the advice! So not much performance enhancement boost from buying a new case and AIO UNLESS I just want a new fancy setup lol.
