CPU to pair with GeForce GTX 970

Hi all, I currently have a i7 2600 @ 3.40 ghz paired with a GeForce GTX 970 gpu.

I am just wondering if a cpu upgrade would be beneficial?. I mainly play BF.

Your CPU is still good, no need to upgrade.

though old, your cpu will hold up for a bit longer, the performance increase you'll see from a newer cpu like the i 4770 is pretty minimal

your good. that is still a very powerful cpu. you will literally gain 3-5 fps at best by going with an overclocked 4790k, and 1fps in bf4. run your 2600 out until skylake comes out and we know what it is capable of.

mind you that your 2600 at stock speed is the same as a 2600k at stock speed. no benefits whatsoever, even counting in pcie 2.0 vs 3.0.

skylake 6600k and 6700k will be coming out within the next month or so. just continue to wait.

Hi all, I'm in the market to get a new cpu to pair with a GeForce GTX 970 as per above. Im starting to feel my rig is a bit sluggish so I think it's the right time to upgrade. Any recommendations as I dont know that much about cpu's. Ta
