I have a crappy, and old 2nd Gen. i7-2670QM, ranks like #317 on pasmarks site.w.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php]pasmarks site[/url].

So was looking at the XBOX ONE CPU, here.

What does 2 x 2 MB 16-way associative shared cache mean?

I can't find anything like that on Ark.Intel.com. They're like Xeon processors for thousands of dollars.

I understand it's a custom CPU made by AMD, for Microsoft, but..

I'd like to know if the PCSx2 would be nice with the 6700k or the 4790k. I like the 4790k more because it's 4.0 - 4.4Ghz, while the 6700k is a little more expensive, and slightly higher score on passmarks list.. Will it be good enough to run the PCSx2 and beat the XBOX ONE CPU?

The 6700k, 4 x 256 KB 4-way set associative caches.. for L2 cache.. that's lower than the XBOX ONE, because the XBOX ONE has 2x 2MB 16-way.

Pcsx2 works perfectly fine on my 2500k. The 2670qm maybe a little old but it is far from crappy. It is more powerful than what the xbone has. You can't go by passmark rank when it's only a laptop quad core and it's up against desktop cpus and heavy hitting 16 core xeons. It still plays most any game with a decent gpu and with a laptop, gpu is most likely the issue. Your 555m is crappy. Was lowish end 4 years ago and is beaten by modern intel igpu.

Did you say the xbone cpu is like an xeon for thousands of dollars? It's got the compute performance of a fx 4100. It's low end. The 6700k will wipe the floor and run miles around what the xbone has. Cache is completely irrelevant when the cpu cores are far superior, it's not even a...
