I got 2 systems one is an intel i3 4170 and the other is an AMD Phenom ii X4 955. The AMD system uses a gtx 660 while the Intel uses a GTX 750 Ti. I get the same, if not close, performance out of both systems while playing Watchdogs. I wan to upgrade only one of the 2 systems.

Should i get an intel i5 or just continue the red path with an FX 8370?
I am running the Phenom at 4GHz without much difference to the stock speed of the i3 3.7GHz

Intel mobo is a Gigabyte H81M-H so no OC.
AMD mobo is an MSI 990FXA-GD65, also got a Xigmatek S1283 DK cooler so OC is possible.

Tell me your experience with the game. I get around 35-60 FPS depending on place and actions being done in game.

You first need to confirm that the cpu is the limiting factor, run afterburner in the background - look at the usage and if you see all cores maxing out and gpu usage dropping below 95ish its safe to say that you are being bottlenecked - if you aren't bottle necking you will see little to no gains from upgrading the cpu.

it looks like the i3 is enough since both cards go up to 98-100% usage while CPU is around 60-80% usage. Thanks a lot, i know plenty about computers but this time i completely forgot to check cpu/gpu usage. I assumed that since Watchdogs is capable of using CPU 8 threads my CPU was the bottleneck.

Would a 280x or GTX 960 make a considerable increase on performance?
