Cpu turned off all of a sudden and wont turn on again.

Hi. Yesterday i was gaming on my pc and all of a sudden my pc turned off without any warning message. I tuned on the cpu again it started and ran for about 5 mins and turned off again. I'm pretty sure that my cpu is overheated. My cpu rises to about 92 deg cel. when I'm gaming. Does the cpu triggered the fail safe ? Or what should I do to get the pc going again. Is there any ways to avoid overheating?

My rig:
Intel i3 540 @3.07ghz
8gb of ram
Zebronics psu 450w
Msi gtx 1050.

And one thing I forgot to mention. There was many occurrences that my monitor alone turned off and on randomly. Does this have to do anything with the overheating? Or it should be a psu fault or mobo fault ?

Your computer can turn off automatic without warning to save itself from overheating but I do think the temp is abit high to play gaming but that is just my thought.

Also is your cooler fan working right because dont think it be your MB and PSU because sounds like its overheating issue!

well to address your issues;

a) Install and run HWinfo in sensor mode and get an accurate reading of cpu temp and gpu temp at idle.
b) if your cpu and/or gpu > 85c you have issues, and should immediately look inside your case when turning on computer to see if the cpu and gpu fans are actually spinning if eitherCPU or GPU fan isn't not ;

CPU Fan issue;
look to make sure the cable that run from the fan to the motherboard (cpu) is connected to the header on the motherboard, if yes, then I would suggest getting a new fan and replace the one in your system with it. if you unsure what fan is on you cpu, take a picture we can help

GPU fan issue;
those can usually be found on eBay or at manufacturer helpdesk, ordered and replaced easily enough

Regarding your monitor, it is possible because the video card is overheating it is cutting the signal to the monitor, lets get your system running stable first then address monitor issue.

regarding power supply the Zebronics psu 450w is a power supply regarded as a "very poor quality" and it is possible the PU is also having serious power issues causing video card lack of power causing cut off at the signal to monitor.

Well i cant turn on my pc right now. If I turn it on the fans spin a little and nothing happens. Does it have to do something with power supply ? And I have my gpu temp perfectly good since its 1 week old. And the stock fan in cpu is spinning.

Wait what you are describing is different than from the original post. Now you are telling me that you cannot start the computer. the symptom of spin/stop of the fans are possibly showing a power issue yes.

I would perform the thumbclip test on your power supply to make sure it is still good

Yeah i changed the psu and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks for the reply. But i cant still get ahead of that monitor turning off issue. I use vga to hdmi adapter for my gpu since my monitor is vga compatible. Is that causing the problem? Thank you

it is possible, if your system is intel have you tried to connect it to the main motherboard is it still turns off and on ? (trying to remove the monitor being the issue)

I havent tried that i will try that of course and keep posted.
