Question CPU underperforming

Im running the nitro 5 i had for about a year and it was fine until a few months ago it started lagging like alot and i looked at the task manager when i was playing dying light and to my shock my CPU was only clocking out at around 0.8 speed normally when im not gaming its around 3.30 speed so any Help?

Check the CPU temps. Install HWInfo64 and take a look at the sensors. Leave it running when you play your game. Then see what the max reaches.

Also, it could be a power setting. Ensure all Windows power settings are set to performance.

Have you cleaned the fan ducts on it lately ? Sounds like it's down clocking for some reason...usually heat is the issue.
