CPU updating. need suggestion

Hello everyone.

Recently i started playing games like BF 4, watch dogs, NFS rivals and many other games, so when i play bf 4 and far cry 3 like 15-20 minutes my pc just shuts off, my casing has 3 cooler fan so no overheating i believe and power supply is good enough (500 watt) recently i bought Sapphire R7 260X DDR5 and new external power supply (500 watt) for gaming, but this shutting off problem is really annoying, so i think main problem is my CPU, which is AMD FX 4100, when i bought this processor i didn't know anything about it, actually i didn't buy it myself, my uncle did, whatever now after doing a little research i think FX 4100 sucks for gaming, and i'm planning to buy a new CPU, Core i3 2100, so is this cpu good enough for gaming ? will i3 2100 bottleneck my GPU Sapphire R7 260X ?

any answer, suggestion will be appreciated

The fx 4100 souldent bottleneck that card. And to me it sounds exactly like something is overheating and what kind of power supply do u have and how many amps on the 12v rail? Wattage means nothing to me.

buy a fx 6300 instead and oc it it will be better than i3 and if u switch to i3 then u have to change your motherboard too because your current mother board is for amd am3+ socket and you will need an intel lga 1155 socket motherboard......

Wrong. If your CPU or GPU cooler has a bad contact or its fan failed, or clogged with dust, you can have 100 fans in your case, but that wont help almost nothing.

Wrong again. 500 watts tell nothing about quality. There are 800W PSU's out there that can't hold a candle to a quality XFX 550W under load.

In summary, I would first check your CPU and GPU temps under load with HWMonitor. Report them back, if they are too high you will likely need to clean/reset heatsinks or change the entire cooler. If they are OK, then I suspect the PSU. Get a quality PSU like XFX Core 550W, it will be more than enough for your setup.

my CPU and GPU fan is fine, they're working and talking about dust i keep my Chassis clean always 😉

That is a very low quality psu im not sure if its causing your problem but its possible.

Agreed, a very low quality PSU. But before we accuse the PSU, please provide your temps under LOAD, you only provided your idle temps (which are fine, BTW). Try playing the game and record temps.
