[SOLVED] CPU Upgrade? 144hz

So firstly I’m not the best when it comes to PCs so don’t judge me

This is my current specs
CPU- i5 6500 @3.2gGHz
GPU- Radeon 480
Ram- 8gb

So I want to buy a new graphics because I am struggling to get 60fps on rainbow six siege with medium settings do I am thinking of getting the rtx 2070. If I were to get the rtx 2070 would I be able to get maximum performance from it or will I need to have to upgrade my cpu as well?

The FPS will b around 144 but can sometimes dip below if you always want to have 144fps or more then upgrading the CPU will be great. The RTX 2070 is a good buy so getting it will improve alot of games and you can always upgrade the cpu if you are not satisfied. Waiting for 3th gen ryzen will also be worth waiting.
