So I am trying to do a upgrade my computer and I am not sure about couple of things.
My motherboard is Asus H110M-D.

1. Can I use a used overclocked CPU with my mobo. I'm not planning on overclocking but there is a CPU that is being sold at a good price and it is overclocked, so I don't know that can I use my mobo with already overclocked CPU.

2. Do I need to reinstall windows if I only upgrade my cpu (upgrading from i3-6100 to i7-6700/k or i7-7700/k.)

Solution
  1. Yes you can. The I7 6700k can be put in your mobo, and start up right away. The I7 7700k will require you update to the mobo's latest bios, through Asus' website, while using your old cpu.
  2. No. That's for when you change the motherboard.
