CPU upgrade compatibility

apart socket type and chipset is there anything else to know when upgrading cpu? I got a MS-7525(boston) mobo ,LGA775 socket and G31 express chipse. Currently it has an Intel pentium dual core E2160 CPU @1.8Ghz. This is an old pc and my parents want to use it. Can i upgrade the cpu wiht an Inte core2 duo E6550? The problem is that this CPU isnt listed in the HP webpage but its strange that there is listed even newer family of intel core 2 duo E7xxx.

Rather than checking the HP website, check your motherboards website and see what chips your motherboard is compatible with. As far as I understand, as long as the chipset and socket type are compatible, it will work.

the problem is that the specific motherboard doesnt appear on any website ....
