I recently upgraded from a intel i5 6th gen to an i7 7700k, and afterwards, my computer won't output anything form any ports(HDMI, USB,etc.). All of the lights and fans turn on normally, but nothing else works. How can I fix this?
I reinstalled the old processor, but I'm having the exact same problems. I can't access the bios because my monitor won't pick up anything.
Uh Oh. You might have bent a pin then... Or you might simply have a cord plugged in the wrong place. Hopefully you just have the cord plugged in the wrong place because if you bent a pin you might need a new motherboard.
I'm not a knowledgeable guy on Intel, but have you checked to make sure they use the same pins? Also, make sure the CPU is seated ALL the way into the socket and the lever is clamped down fully. If that doesn't help, ensure that the motherboard and that CPU are compatible.
You should identify the problem before you attempt to fix it. It might be as simple as updating the the bios, but without the info I asked for earlier there is no way to be sure.
