Question CPU upgrade doesn't work. Am I missing something? Xeon E5-2603 v4 -> Xeon E5-2637 v4

Hi,
I recently bought a refurb CPU (Xeon E5-2637 v4 ) to replace my functioning but slow Xeon E5-2603 v4. This was swapped on a Supermicro X10DAI Motherboard and was given adequate cooling. This is run as a single CPU (even though the board supports dual) and 32GB DDR4-2133 ECC REG RAM. The new CPU wouldn't do a thing. No startup beep, no Bios (or any image on screen). I swapped the CPUs back and all was fine.
Am I missing something here in terms of incompatibility or is it more likely that the CPU us dead?
Thanks for any clues!

Do you have the latest BIOS ?
If so, then there isn't much. Bent pins or dead CPU.

Any update?

On a Socket 2011 v3/v4, the pins are on the motherboard, so it is unlikely it's a bent pen issue.

Updating the BIOS would be a good step.

I love these Xeon processors. E5-2637 v4 processors are $5 on fleabay right now. (Really 5/$25.)
