Hi Guys! I have a Clevo laptop and I want to upgrade my CPU.

I would like to upgrade it with this CPU Intel® Core™ i7-2920XM Processor Extreme Edition
(8M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)
Is it possible? Can someone please tell me if I will have any compatibility issues?
Is it worth it? Is there any other CPU thats better than this and I can use?
Any comment is appreciated.

Yes, you can upgrade the CPU in your laptop because the CPU is not soldered into the motherboard. However, you will need to call Clevo to determine which CPUs are compatible with the laptop.

Just keep in mind that your motherboard does not allow you to overclock the CPU (the P170HX mobo does allow for overclocking) so installing something like the i7-2920XM would be a waste of many since you will not be able to overclock that CPU.

If I chose Intel Core i7-2960XM would be better?
 
The Core i7-2960XM will give you better performance since it is 500MHz / 600MHz faster than your current CPU. But it has a TDP of 55w which is basically the amount of heat generated by the 2960XM compared to 45w of your current CPU. If the laptop has not been designed to deal with a 55w TDP CPU, then you are likely to have overheating issues. That is why you need to call Clevo.
