CPU Upgrade for my Dad

So we just moved across country and before the move, my dad was complaining about his computer being slow. He was running the AMD A8-5600K APU on a FM2 motherboard with no dedicated GPU. I was already planning on getting him a GTX 550ti so I was wondering, what CPUs I could swap in for a replacement. Thank You.

There really isn't much of anything that's going to make that significantly faster. About the best model that you can upgrade to is probably the Athlon X4 860k, 870k or 890k. But you'll need to check your motherboard product page to see if they are compatible. What is his motherboard model number?

It's possible it might not be compatible with the FM2+ CPUs. Motherboard model tells all.
