I have a Toshiba Tecra A5-S416 laptop.
Its chipset is Mobile Intel 915g. Present it has Pentium M 730 processor and has socket 479 mPGA.
Please suggest me the best upgrade for my CPU.

That laptop is ancient. It's a windows XP era laptop that supports up to 2gb PC2700 DDR ram
According to this website: http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20479%20(mPGA479M).html

the best cpu you could get for that socket is Pentium M 780 at 2.26ghz which has a CPU mark of 509 vs 363 for your current 1.6 GHz CPU
which is not a big enough improvement for you to upgrade

If i were you I'd save the money and get a more modern laptop instead

Definitely not worth throwing money at that laptop now - - new laptop well overdue and it will give you better performance and a more satisfying experience than anything you can do to your existing one. That 2GB RAM limit (which is correct as chickenballs has said) will always be a major performance bottleneck no matter what else you do to try and improve it.

Honestly, save your money and seriously think about getting a new one.
