CPU upgrade Gatewat DX 4860-UB32P

Hello, I have a Gateway DX4860-UB32P with a intel sandy bridge i3 3120 3.2? MHz CPU , I have the ram maxed at 16 GB Corsair Vengeance pro ddr3 2400 MHz [running @ 1333 MHz] [great deal on eBay]. I would like to install a faster CPU , can anyone recommend a better intel CPU? I see some are running the IVY bridge CPU up to i7 xxxx , my mother board is a acer IPISB-VR MOBO PART # MB.GCC0P.002 / socket LGA 1155 [ H2 ] / intel chipset H67! Any help would be appreciated .

You can drop in any of the LGA 1155 processors, so Core i5's to the i7. That said, you can't do any overclocking, so you can avoid the 'K' SUK Intel processors. I've had good luck with the i5 3470. It's a great processor, even if it's almost 5 years old now. You can spring for an i7 3770 as well, but these chips are getting expensive these days.
