CPU Upgrade Issues

Ok, I just recently installed windows 7 pro on my pc. I wanted to upgrade my cpu and mother board while doing that.

Manu: Acer
Model: WMCP78M
Mobo: NVIDIA nForce 720a Rev A2
SouthB: NVIDIA ID075C Rev A2

BIOS: Pheonix Tech
Version: R01-B0 (Dated 03/31/2009 - latest I can find on Acer's site)

Socket AM2 (940)
65 nm
AMD Athlon 2650e <- POS

Windows 7 Pro x64
NVIDIA GeForce 8200 (integrated)

Ive been reading and I though a AMD Athlon II X2 240e would be perfect, but its not. The cool thing is the company I ordered it from sent the wrong one and sent me the 245e the first time, so I was able to try both. If there is anything I need to do or try, please let me know. I am wanting to upgrade to 2.8mhz or better! Any other opinions on processors would be outstanding.

Forgot to include that I figured I could install the processor, then reboot using the windows 7 CD and do a "repair" to have the correct driver installed, but when I try those 2 processors i listed above, the damn screen dont even come on.

that mb was sharded with emachine so if you google that model mb your going to get all emachine hits.
i found your old bios and new one here but i dont know if that your model of your aspire.

Yea, I got the latest version of BIOS from there..

to the top.. Im thinking the Athlon x2 5050e will work. Is this accurate? dont want to spend the money if it isnt.
