I have an MSI B150M Bazooka motherboard and I want to upgrade my cpu. Whats the best one out there right now for the price of $300 or below?

Solution
At the end of the day, ryzen 2600 and even the i7 upgrade is just not worth your money. AMD 3600 or higher would be recommended.

Look at it this way. AMD 4000 are rolling out this fall, this means your 2600 is going to be 2 generations old even before you break the seal. The 4000 doesn't offer immense performance increase over the 3000 (not proven on paper yet). but the 3000 is quite noticeable in comparison to 2600.

At this time, I would strongly recommend for you to wait and save up a little more money, 400-450$ will get you the sweet spot of performance right now while offering better long term results. Besides, your 6500 is still performing decently today.

What CPU do you have currently? On B150, you're limited to an i7-6700/6700K or 7700/7700K as the "best", but you're typically looking at the overpriced used market for that.

Whereas you could net comparable performance, on a new platform with something like a 3300X (if you can find one) / B450 + DDR4 for ~$300

Or a 6c/12t Ryzen5 2600 (or 3600), B450 and 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 for ~$250

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($138.94 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($72.99 @ Best Buy)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($46.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $257.93

what's your internet upload speed? I hope you're wired and not on WiFi? Try do a bandwidth test to check yourself.

LoL shouldn't be lagging on a 6core cpu when streaming, unless your video content settings are too high.
