Hi all

I recently bought a cpu upgrade, a amd fx-8350 from a 4350 and after installing the cpu I get no boot sound or display, but with all the fans powered and the mo-bo light on, I tried the old cpu and that no doesn’t give me any boot sound either. What to do? I have tried resetting the CMOS to no avail.

I am running a:
ASUS m5a78L motherboard
16gb ddr3 RAM
GTX 1060
OCZ SSD
And the AMD FX-8350 cpu

Any help would be appreciated!

Solution
Well the BIOS to run an FX4350 is the same as for the FX8350, so that shouldn't be an issue.

If the old CPU no longer works, you might want to check the CPU's installation and the socket itself. Possible you damaged the board during the swap, but it is doubtful. Could just be a coincidence and the board has failed.
