Good day, I would like your opinions on a cpu upgrade. My current PC sports an i3-9100F on a B360M Gigabyte Aorus Gaming board and 2x8GB 2666 Mhz rams with a 500GB NVME, a GTX 1070 powered by a 620w Bronze rated M12 seasonic. What would be a best option for me because I have a very low budget?
1. Go with the an i3 12th gen and an H610 motherboard I would not need a new set of rams since intel is not so picky on frequency.
2. A 5600G+A520M route way cheaper than my 1st option but might need better ram frequency cause 2666 mhz isn't gonna cut it for this And I have built in graphics incase my old 1070 bites the dust.
3. A 5600x (used) +A520 might need better set of rams than my 2666's. costs the same as the 5600g bundle since the proc is used, I just want the better clocks and caches of the 5600x.
4. A very much cheaper and less hassle upgrade by buying a used i7-9700 there are selllers selling it at a bargain.

I am not much of a gamer, pretty much contended playing 1080p @60hz. Can you tell me the best route? Thanks.

You wouldn't need faster RAM with 5600x either, maybe with i3 or 5600g because of their IGPU.
I'd say you would be best of with 5600x because:
1. Intel CPUs have insufficient IGPU for any gaming and 4 cores are just too little.
2. 5600g has way better IGPU but graphics are still at level of for instance GTX1030. Relaying on IGPU requires more and faster RAM so that would be more of expense.
3. Your1070 "biting dust" anytime soon is not certain but IGPU in those processors would be easily matched or surpassed by even cheapest GPUs.
4. 5600x is at least 15% faster than 5600g and that's what counts most with games at1080p

I would not go with a H610 motherboard. And since you're strapped for cash, you'll have to buy a cheap one too. So no, don't go with 1) except if you're looking at a 12100 CPU and a B660 or B760 or B660M/B760M board. That is cheap but decent, but if it's still too expensive then abandon Intel.

Your call which way to go looks like the 9700 is plug+play.

The I7 9700 is a good option depending on the price, its an adequate pairing with anything up to like an RX 7800 XT \ RTX 4070 Super. You will want to upgrade your motherboard BIOS to the latest version before you swap the CPU however. Also I would suggest that you upgrade your ram to 32GB, 16GB is starting to become a bit constrained. That I7 9700 should provide similar performance to a Ryzen 5 5600G honestly, maybe a smidge better. You can use the i9 9900k as a reference, it performs within 10% of that chip in most games.
