CPU Upgrade Pentium G2020

So Christmas is coming up and I need a new CPU, for the past half year I have had a Intel Pentium G2020 and I have been running all my games well enough on my 7770 however I just got BF4 and I can tell my CPU is holding me down.

I want a reasonable CPU upgrade recommendation, I am currently running a asus P8H61-MX r2.0 and I have approximately £150 to spend on a new CPU or CPU+mobo combo although I could go a bit over if necessary, my final need is that if I get a new mobo it must be matx or smaller.

Any feedback would be appreciated

with a bios update if needed your mb could use the newer ivy bridge cpu. so you could drop in anything from an ib 13 to and i7 that would be in your price range. all you would have to do is power off the mb and take off the intel cpu cooler and unclip the cpu and drop the new cpu in and repaste the new cpu and your upgrade is done.

under bios last bios file is 1001. boot into your bios and look at the bios rev on the main screen. to update the bios file on asus you just download and unzip the file. make a copy of the bios file and use the bios renamer. (some bios you have to do this). then go into the bios under advance mode there a bios update tab. click on it and point it to where the newest bios file is and then let it update and reboot. once the system reboots...go back in and check that your running bios 1001. then save the default bios settings...exit and then reboot.
on reboot go back in and check that sata ports set to achi mode and ram set to xmp profile and your done.

I just realised I have made a mistake with my motherboard model its actuallt the p8h61-MX R2.0 will this change what i need to do to update the bios?

no all newer asu with the efi bios update the same you just need to use the P8H61-MX R2.0 BIOS 1103 if your mb not at that rev yet.
