CPU upgrade. Please help!

My brother is getting a new laptop for university and he is giving ne his 2010 Intel inspiron n5040. Im planning to upgrade the CPU and memory. I know its old, but whats the best CPU I can get thats compatible?

You cannot upgrade the cpu in laptops as they are built into the motherboard. As for the ram, go to crucial.com and run a scanner or look up your ram type.
