[SOLVED] CPU Upgrade: Q6600 or Q6700 or Q8400 or Q9400

Solution
you re right, only 2 DDR2 slots :)

Yes, 4gb are enough for my use man :)

Prices:

q6600 and q8400 : 10euro
Q6700 and Q9400 : 13euro

I m using E5200 :)
I would get the Q9400, because it will run cooler and use less power. It also has newer instruction sets that the Q6600/6700 don't have and may be needed in some of the games you might want to play. You also said you won't be overclocking, so the Q9400 will give better performance per core than the Q6600.

If your motherboard bios is not already updated, you will need to update to 1.10, before you can use the Q9400.

That motherboard only supports up to 4GB total installed system ram. Do you really think it's wise to spend more money on this system?

What CPU do you have right now? Have you checked prices on other used parts in your region? What else is available?

q9400 all the way I’ve used all those and the older 6000. Series struggle with YouTube play back. Another note is just because the manufacturer says max is 4gb doesn’t mean that there isn’t a chance you could put 8gb in it. But if you don’t have the money to do some testing then don’t bother
