Hi Guys!

Im a noob that loves to play pc games with friends, so i started with a budget pc and upgrading it piece by piece every couple of months. This time, i want to upgrade my cpu from i3 7100 to i7 6700. I'm not an overclock enthusiast so i wont bother with the K thing. My question is, is there a need for a BIOS update before i switch CPU? Or it should just be plug and play? i7 6700 is in the list of CPU's supported by my MOBO (i checked their website) but i want to make sure. I ask because I'm upgrading via Good Trade deal so once i got the i7, i won't have the i3 with me. Im also upgrading because i'm using the pc for Heavy Autocad files and some 3D softwares at work.

MOBO: ASUS H110M-A-M-2 (Yeah Yeah Yeah will upgrade later)
RAM: 16GB
GPU: ASUS 1050 Ti (Yeah Yeah Yeah this is my next upgrade)
PSU: 500W (is this enough if i change later to at least 1060?)
Peripherals: (Oh it doesn't matter) :)

Thanks in advanced, looking forward for Your much needed help. Cheers!

An H110 is not capable of overclocking....

However, the K-models are also clocked 200-300 MHz or so higher than non-k models, so, it's not as if the K models are identical to non-k models...

As for PSUs, Corsair offers a non-modular 600 watt PSU for $55 or so...works great, I use it with my 7700K/GTX1060.....

To just answer both of your questions.
1. CPU support yes the one you have the 7100 takes a newer BIOS version than the 6700K so all you will need to do is install the new CPU and a aftermarket cooler the 6700k does not come with one, then reset CMOS for the board to recognise the new hardware.
2. Video card is also a yes as long as you did not buy a cheap overated power supply.
3. For extra points. If your not going to overclock the CPU, are happy with using 2133 memory and have no plans to ever use 2 cards (can't SLI 1060's anyhow ) then their no real reason to upgrade the board about all it does is connect the parts.
