CPU Upgrade Question

Hello,
I have an old Emachine I am turning into a gaming pc. I am currently running a Athlon II 4050e on the AM2 socket, and I have a AMD Phenom X4 9350e out of another pc. Is this processor compatible. There are both on AM2 sockets, I cant find the chipset, and the power draw is 45w on the 4050e and 65w on the 9350e. I have a 400w power supply to power my rig, and a 1050 for the graphics card. I simply need a faster cpu. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

What is the model number of the Emachine tower you're trying to upgrade?

Highly doubtful that the CPU is the only limiting factor in that eMachine.

Awaiting the actual model number of the thing.

It is a ET1161-07 with a mcp61pm-gm mobo

I'm afraid you're not going to be able to do much with that PC. Very little information exists as far as upgrades go, but I suspect you will have problems changing the CPU due to the proprietary nature of the OEM Bios.
